Obituary of Terri Lynn Wear

In early February 2021, country music legend Gene Watson faced a profound personal loss with the passing of his daughter, Terri Lynn Watson Wear, at the age of 58. Terri succumbed to complications from COVID-19 on February 2, 2021, at Paris Regional Medical Center in Paris, Texas.

Born on March 11, 1962, in Paris, Texas, Terri was the daughter of Gene Watson and Mattie Bivens Watson. She graduated from MacArthur High School in Houston and attended North Harris County College. Terri dedicated much of her life to being a stay-at-home mother and wife, and she was actively involved in her church community, singing in the choir at Life Church. Dignity 

She is survived by her husband, Chris Wear, whom she married on February 26, 1999, her daughter Madison Helm and husband Dakota, her parents, and her brother Gary Wayne Watson and his wife Gina. Terri was preceded in death by her son, Ricky Lynn Henderson, and a special cousin, Dionne Mowrey.

Following her passing, Gene Watson expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of support, stating:

“Thank you for your thoughts and prayers as my family mourns the loss of my daughter, Terri, who passed from Covid last week. Your support and friendship has been much appreciated.”

Terri’s life was commemorated in a graveside service held on February 7, 2021, at Sylvan Cemetery in Lamar County, Texas.
